The Short
I’m a senior creative media productions major at the University of Oklahoma. While my emphasis is in client production, I got my start in broadcast and have experience in film. I’m a producer and editor with a love for writing, and I love to work on projects that sell brands and help others.
The Long
I grew up in Montgomery, Alabama where I spent most of my time dancing, drawing, and playing soccer and piano. When I wasn’t making my parents cart me from practice to practice, I kept my nose buried in a book. This is where my love for stories began.
In high school, I struggled to figure out my life’s plan. I enjoyed so many things, how was I to choose? I knew I wanted to be creative, but I also wanted something with structure. After seeing a 3D maze project from art, my math teacher suggested architecture, so that’s what I declared.
I moved 13 hours away at the age of 18 to Norman, Oklahoma. My freshman year was challenging and exhausting, but I figured out a lot about myself along the way. Between architecture courses and rowing for my university, I learned valuable time management and leadership skills as well as what I didn’t want to be doing. I withdrew from the team and changed my major.
Through a lot of soul-searching and many trips to Major Exploration, I became a creative media productions major. It would allow me to be creative while also allowing me to help others.
When I was really young, my parents had this clunky, old camcorder to make home videos with, and I cannot count the number of times I begged them on camera to “let me do it!” I was born to work with video whether I knew it or not. Destiny has an odd way of working out sometimes, but I’m doing what I love.
Writing and creating videos for the world to enjoy.
